Man arrested in Marlboro on domestic violence charges after police chase

MARLBORO — Vermont State Police arrested a Wilmington man on multiple charges including aggravated domestic assault following an incident on Route 9 Saturday evening.

Nicholas Dow, 34, was taken into custody after allegedly fleeing from police who were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance inside a vehicle around 7:59 p.m.

Brattleboro Police Department initially attempted to stop the vehicle, but Dow reportedly fled the scene.

Troopers later located the vehicle and interviewed one of the occupants before finding and arresting Dow.

Dow faces charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, unlawful restraint, operating without owner’s consent, reckless endangerment, negligent operation, criminal threatening, and violation of conditions of release.

Following his arrest, Dow was transported to the Westminster State Police Barracks for processing.

He was issued a citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on April 14 at 12:30 p.m.

Dow was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
