WAPPINGERS — The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle that struck a female pedestrian on Spook Hill Road.
The incident occurred April 9 at approximately 11:43 p.m. in the Town of Wappinger.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was hit by an unknown black motorcycle while walking along the southbound shoulder of Spook Hill Road, south of Myers Corners Road.
The motorcyclist, described as wearing a black “puffy” jacket and black helmet, fled the scene heading southbound on Spook Hill Road.
Investigators believe at least one other motorcycle was traveling with the suspect at the time of the crash.
The female pedestrian sustained significant injuries to her upper left arm and lower leg from the impact.
The victim’s name is being withheld while the investigation continues.
