2 injured in head-on collision in North Haven

NORTH HAVEN — Two New Haven men were injured in a head-on collision Friday afternoon at the intersection of Middletown Avenue and Quinnipiac Avenue, police said.

The crash, involving a minivan and a car, occurred around 4 p.m. on April 11.

The driver of the minivan, a 29-year-old New Haven man, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to North Haven police.

The 23-year-old driver of the car suffered life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.

North Haven Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

The South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit (SCCTU) has taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.

The intersection, which was temporarily closed following the collision, has since reopened to traffic.
