ELMIRA — Police arrested an Elmira man Monday after executing a search warrant that uncovered multiple weapons and illegal drugs at his west side residence.
Sean M. Whitty, 41, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon following what authorities described as a “lengthy investigation” into narcotics sales.
The Elmira Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, New York State Police Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team, and the Elmira SWAT Team conducted the raid at approximately 9 a.m. on April 7.
According to Sgt. Patrick D. Johnson of the Elmira Police Department, officers discovered large quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and psilocybin mushrooms during the search.
Police also seized three loaded semi-automatic pistols — .22 caliber, 9mm, and .45 caliber — along with additional ammunition for all weapons.
Other items recovered included two pill presses, a kilo press, digital scales, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Additional criminal charges against Whitty are pending as the investigation continues, Johnson said.
