Weymouth police assist in capture of Worcester double homicide suspect

WEYMOUTH — The Weymouth Police Department assisted in the apprehension of a suspect wanted in connection with a November 2024 double homicide in Worcester.

Shaquille Watford, 31, of Brockton, was arrested April 3 at 220 Lake Street in Weymouth following coordinated efforts with multiple law enforcement agencies.

Watford faces charges including two counts of armed assault with intent to rob, unlawful carry of a rifle, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a rifle in the commission of a felony.

He is also set to be arraigned on two charges of murder related to the November 21, 2024, shooting on Brookside Avenue in Worcester that claimed the lives of a male and female victim.

The arrest was the result of collaboration between Weymouth Police and Worcester Police, with Watford being taken into custody on warrants related to the Worcester shootings and additional unrelated warrants.

Watford’s residence was listed as 38 Sterling Road in Brockton at the time of his arrest.
