WILLIAMSTOWN — A local man was arrested Thursday after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a power pole and leaving the scene.
Jeffrey Bahner, 46, of Williamstown, was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
State police received a report of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 14 and Circle Street at 9:59 a.m.
Troopers learned the driver had left the scene without reporting the crash.
Authorities later determined Bahner was at his apartment in Williamstown but did not answer when troopers knocked on his door.
After obtaining a search warrant, troopers entered Bahner’s residence and found him inside.
Bahner was arrested on suspicion of DUI and processed at the Berlin Barracks.
He was later released with a citation to appear in court at a future date.
