WALTON — A 36-year-old Walton woman was arrested Friday on a warrant for criminal trespass after allegedly entering a storage area at a Liberty Street property earlier this year.

Leanne Woolard was taken into custody by Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies on March 28 at 11 a.m., according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

Deputies were initially dispatched to 30-32 Liberty St. on Jan. 6 for a trespass complaint.

The property owner told deputies that Woolard had been found in the building’s storage area but left before law enforcement arrived.

According to officials, the owner reported that Walton Police Department had previously warned Woolard that future trespassing would result in arrest.

Following their investigation, deputies requested an arrest warrant from the Village of Walton Court.

The court issued a warrant charging Woolard with criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor under New York State Penal Law.

After her arrest, Woolard was processed and transferred to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Court.
