TROY, NY — A Troy man was sentenced to 14 years in state prison after being convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Violent Felony.
Qon Pringle received the sentence along with five years of post-release supervision following his fifth felony conviction in the past decade.
The conviction stems from a Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) operation in January 2024, when the New York State Parole Division discovered a loaded 9mm pistol during a search of Pringle’s residence.
This marks Pringle’s third felony conviction for possessing a loaded firearm.
Authorities identified Pringle as a known figure in the community’s gun violence network with ties to the Troy YGz gang.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane in Rensselaer County Court.
