KIRKWOOD — The Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal motorcycle accident on Interstate 81 North near Mile Marker #1 at approximately 3:50 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
The crash involved three motorcycles, according to sheriff’s officials.
Two victims were transported to Wilson Hospital with serious injuries.
Maxwell L. Kintner, 23, of Vestal, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash, with initial findings indicating speed was a factor.
The accident remains under investigation.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including New York State Police, NYS Department of Transportation, Kirkwood Fire, Five Mile Point Fire, Great Bend Fire, PA DOT, Broome Ambulance, Superior Ambulance and Union Ambulance.
