BOSTON — Boston police are warning residents of an increase in residential break-ins and attempted break-ins in the Allston/Brighton neighborhood, particularly in areas near Boston College and Boston University.
The Boston Police Department issued a safety advisory stating that these incidents are under active investigation.
Authorities are urging community members to remain alert and take preventative measures to protect their homes and belongings.
Recommended safety steps include always locking doors and windows, installing motion-activated lighting around entryways, considering home security systems or video surveillance, and avoiding leaving valuables near windows or in plain sight.
Police are asking residents to call 911 immediately if they observe any suspicious individuals or activity in their area.
