3 injured, 1 dead in Woodbury, NY crash

WOODBURY, NY — A single-car crash on Route 6 left one person dead and two others injured Wednesday night.

Troopers from State Police Monroe responded to the collision at approximately 10:53 p.m. on April 2 in the town of Woodbury.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2017 Nissan traveling eastbound on Route 6 at a high rate of speed failed to navigate the curve at the Long Mountain traffic circle.

The vehicle drove through the center of the traffic circle and struck a tree.

All three occupants were extricated from the vehicle.

The driver, Steffany C. Egger, 43, of Stony Point, and a 21-year-old male front-seat passenger were treated at the scene by EMS personnel.

They were later transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Xavier Egger, 19, of Stony Point, who was in the back seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
