SOMERSET — Three individuals were charged with prostitution following an investigation at a local motel, Somerset Police Chief William Tedford announced today.

Members of the Somerset Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division noticed suspicious activity involving multiple guests at the motel during February and March.

Sergeant Michael Demoranville and Officers Stephens Lima, Eli Fishbein, and Christopher Rodrigues reviewed this information with the Detective Division and determined multiple individuals were using rooms to conduct sexual activity with clients who had arranged meetings online.

On March 17, members of the Detective Division conducted an operation at the motel after determining suspects had returned and were occupying two rooms.

Detective Lieutenant Jason Matos, Detective Sergeant Nicholas Davidson, and Detective James Cardella established surveillance while Detective Donald Cormier contacted one suspect and arranged a meeting.

During their conversation, the suspect offered to perform a sexual act for money upon Detective Cormier’s arrival at the motel.

Detective Cormier later knocked on the suspect’s door, confirming their identity before identifying himself as an officer.

Other detectives and Officer Tyler Botelho then entered both rooms, detaining three individuals who were later trespassed from the property.

All three suspects will be summoned to Fall River District Court on charges of Sexual Conduct for a Fee and Conspiracy.

An individual identified as Stephen Jameson was arrested based on two active arrest warrants.
