ROCHESTER — New York State Police arrested a Penfield man on charges related to child sexual abuse material and threats made to an investigator.
On January 27, 2023, State Police in Rochester received 18 CyberTipline Reports from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding the possession of child abuse material.
Following an investigation and execution of a search warrant, authorities determined that Ryon M. Shorter, 22, of Penfield, possessed files containing child sexual abuse materials.
On Feb. 27, Shorter contacted State Police and made homicidal threats via phone and text message to an investigator.
Shorter was located and arrested the same day for Possessing Sexual Performance By a Child less than 16: Possess/Access To View, an E Felony, and Aggravated Harassment 2nd, an A Misdemeanor.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Penfield Town Court on March 19.
