Rhode Island task forces arrest 7 in multi-day operation

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island law enforcement agencies arrested seven individuals on various charges during operations spanning March 11-13.

Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Oscar Mendez Muniz, 41, of North Providence on March 11 at 1:30 p.m. on charges of possession with intent to deliver Schedule I/II controlled substances and conspiracy.

Muniz was taken into custody on an arrest warrant from the Newport Police Department and transported directly to their facility.

The same day, the ATU/ACI Investigations Unit arrested Felix Santana, 61, of Lincoln on multiple charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, identity fraud, and failure to appear on previous warrants.

Santana was held overnight, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, issued $10,000 surety bail and transported to the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institutions.

On March 12, the HIDTA Task Force arrested Robert McNab, 49, of Cranston for possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

McNab was processed at the Lincoln Barracks before being arraigned in Third Division District Court.

Also on March 12, the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Anthony Dexter, 23, of Warwick for possession of child pornography.

Judge Caruolo arraigned Dexter in Kent District Court, issuing $2,500 surety bail with conditions prohibiting unsupervised contact with minors and restricting internet use.

On March 13, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Donald Porraro, 71, of Providence for larceny from a person.

Porraro was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned by a Bail Commissioner and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

The Financial Crimes Unit made two arrests on March 13, beginning with Yngri Klumpers, 47, of North Providence on charges including obtaining property by false pretenses and fraudulently obtaining public assistance.

Klumpers was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.

The final arrest was Alexis Delgado, 35, of Cranston on similar charges of fraud and conspiracy.

Delgado was also released on $10,000 personal recognizance following arraignment.
