OLEAN — Two men were arrested Wednesday night on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal narcotics, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
Marcus A. Turner, 41, of Olean and Dillan Leavitt, 22, of Allegany were taken into custody around 8:40 p.m. on North 12th Street in Olean.
Both men face two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell a narcotic drug, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, which includes members from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Salamanca Police Department, and Olean Police Street Crimes Unit, made the arrests while investigating drug activity in the greater Olean and Allegany areas.
Authorities located and stopped a vehicle operated by Leavitt, leading to the discovery of suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and U.S. currency.
Both suspects were processed and are being held pending arraignment.
