CHAMPLAIN — A Mooers Forks man was arrested on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child following a domestic dispute in Champlain.
James E. Bordeau, 27, was taken into custody on March 12 at approximately 10:39 p.m. when State Police responded to a call on Davison Road.
Troopers observed Bordeau driving a 2020 Ford Ecosport into the driveway of the residence as they arrived at the scene.
Upon interviewing Bordeau, officers noted signs of impairment and administered standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Investigation revealed that Bordeau had been involved in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated when he allegedly pushed the victim and placed his hands around the victim’s neck, applying pressure.
After releasing the victim, Bordeau took his child, who was present during the altercation, and placed the child in his vehicle, though he never left the property with the child.
The child was returned to the victim before troopers arrived at the scene.
Bordeau was charged with driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood, criminal mischief, and aggravated family offense.
Following his arraignment in the Town of Mooers County Court, Bordeau was remanded to Clinton County Jail.
