FALL RIVER — A man was arrested Wednesday in an undercover operation targeting individuals seeking to sexually exploit minors, according to Massachusetts State Police.
The operation was conducted by the Massachusetts State Police High Risk Victims Unit, the Fall River Police Department’s Community Action and Suppression Team, and the Massachusetts State Police Troop D Community Action Team.
An undercover trooper posted a fictitious advertisement on a website known for facilitating commercial sex, posing as a 15-year-old female.
After establishing probable cause, the undercover officer arranged a meeting at a designated location with the suspect.
Law enforcement officials took the suspect into custody without incident when he arrived at the meeting location.
The suspect faces multiple charges including sexual conduct for a fee with a child, enticement of a child under the age of 16, and attempted rape of a child.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and child exploitation in the region.
