LAGRANGE — A Poughkeepsie man was arrested on felony drug charges after a raid at a LaGrange hotel early Tuesday morning, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
Joseph A. Adams, 42, was taken into custody at the Best Western Inn at the Falls after Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant at approximately 3 a.m. on March 12.
Authorities said Adams was found in possession of fentanyl packaged for sale and a large amount of U.S. currency.
The arrest followed an investigation during which agents reportedly purchased fentanyl and cocaine from Adams at various locations throughout Dutchess County.
Adams faces charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.
Following his arraignment in LaGrange Town Court, Adams was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit (SWAT) and Patrol Division assisted in the operation.
The Drug Task Force continues to investigate narcotic sales throughout Dutchess County in an effort to prevent violent crime and overdose deaths.
