BOSTON — Two teenagers were arrested Tuesday after a shooting in Roxbury that left a 29-year-old man wounded, police said.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 62 Warren Street at approximately 4:56 p.m., where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police rendered aid until Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives obtained surveillance footage of the shooting and distributed images and descriptions of two suspects to officers in the area.
Officers later spotted two males matching the descriptions on Moreland Street, where they detained a 17-year-old without incident.
The second suspect, a 15-year-old, attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit with assistance from Boston Housing Police.
Both juveniles, from Dorchester, face multiple charges including assault with intent to murder while armed, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and carrying a firearm without a license.
During booking, officers discovered what appeared to be crack cocaine in the 15-year-old’s sock, resulting in an additional charge of possession of a Class B substance.
The teenagers are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
