WILMINGTON — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Lowell Street (Route 129) near the Interstate 93 ramp complex.
Wilmington Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene at approximately 1:40 p.m. on March 11.
First responders found one vehicle had rolled onto its hood with two occupants trapped inside.
Firefighters from Wilmington and Reading freed the trapped individuals, who were then transported to local hospitals with apparent non life-threatening injuries.
One patient was transported by Wilmington Fire and the other by Reading Fire.
One driver involved in the crash was cited for failure to yield.
Seven Wilmington Police units responded to the scene, along with firefighters from Wilmington and Reading.
Massachusetts State Police and Reading Police assisted with closing roads and ramps at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation provided signboards and assisted with debris removal.
