RUTLAND — Two Rutland men were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of cocaine and an outstanding warrant, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Rutland Barracks stopped a vehicle on Woodstock Avenue around 5:27 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation.
The driver was identified as Devin Mcleod, 29, and his passenger as Randy Duprey, 46, both of Rutland.
During the interaction, troopers observed indicators of drug use and requested assistance from Rutland Town Police Department.
Officer Plakas responded with a K-9 unit, which was deployed around the exterior of the vehicle.
The vehicle was later seized while authorities pursued a search warrant.
Both occupants consented to personal searches, which led to the discovery of suspected cocaine on Mcleod.
Authorities also discovered Duprey had an outstanding arrest warrant.
Mcleod was taken to the Rutland Barracks for processing and issued a citation for possession of cocaine.
Duprey was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correction Facility where he was lodged on $200 bail.
