AIRMONT — Two men were arrested Wednesday after allegedly making a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of a Walmart store, according to the Ramapo Police Department.
The incident began Sunday, March 9, when police received a report of a bomb threat at the Walmart in the Village of Airmont.
Witnesses told responding officers that two males had entered the store and stated they had a bomb before leaving the location prior to police arrival.
The threat prompted an evacuation of the building and a coordinated response from multiple law enforcement agencies.
K9 units specializing in explosive detection searched the building and found no explosives.
Following an investigation by the Ramapo Police Investigations Division, the two suspects were identified and arrested on Wednesday, March 12.
Both suspects were charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a D-Felony.
They were arraigned before Village of Airmont Justice Straus and released without bail pending future court appearances.
