WILLIMANTIC — A 28-year-old man was arrested after attempting to force entry into a local bar to confront a person protected by an active protective order, police said.
Seth Donahue was arrested March 8 at approximately 5:42 p.m. when officers responded to reports of an unruly individual at a bar in Willimantic.
Officers determined that Donahue had attempted to force entry into the closed establishment to confront a person protected by an active protective order against him.
Investigation revealed that earlier in the evening, Donahue had unlawfully entered the protected person’s residence, causing damage to the door latch, handle, and lock mechanism.
Upon his arrest, Donahue was found in possession of body armor and a controlled substance.
He was charged with violation of conditions of release 2nd degree, criminal possession of body armor, possession of a controlled substance (2nd offense), breach of peace 2nd degree, attempted burglary 3rd degree, and criminal mischief 3rd degree.
Donahue was held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Danielson Superior Court on March 10.
According to police, Donahue had been arrested earlier the same day at approximately 2:30 a.m. for a domestic dispute that led to the issuance of the protective order.
He had posted bond and was given conditions of release, which he violated later that day.
