Man arrested for trespassing in Rutland Town home

RUTLAND TOWN — Vermont State Police arrested a Rutland City man Monday night after he allegedly entered a residence without permission.

Michael S. Jones, 39, was found in the basement of a home on U.S. Route 4 East in Rutland Town at approximately 10:50 p.m., according to police.

Authorities responded to the residence after receiving a report of unlawful trespassing.

Jones did not have permission to enter the occupied dwelling, police said.

He was charged with unlawful trespass in an occupied dwelling.

Jones was ordered held on $2,500 bail at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center with conditions of release set by the court.
