WESTFIELD — A former Westfield Fire District treasurer faces embezzlement charges after allegedly writing unauthorized checks worth more than $60,000 over a four-year period.
Kelly Randall, 46, of Newport Center, was issued a citation Monday following a three-month investigation by Vermont State Police.
The investigation began December 3, 2024, when authorities discovered numerous unauthorized checks had been written from the fire district’s accounts.
Police determined many of the fraudulent checks were deposited directly into Randall’s personal bank account between 2020 and 2024.
Randall is scheduled for arraignment April 22 in Orleans County Superior Court.
