CORTLANDVILLE — A 56-year-old City of Cortland woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing merchandise from a shoe store in Cortlandville.
Marisa Edwards of Charles Street was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the Shoe Dept. at 822 Bennie Road at approximately 12:05 p.m. on March 6 for a reported larceny.
Authorities said Edwards had fled the scene before officers arrived, but was later located and taken into custody at 3:05 p.m.
Edwards was processed at the Public Safety Building and released on an appearance ticket.
She is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court for arraignment on March 24 at 1 p.m.
