During the March 6 search, investigators determined that five goats, two cows, a pig, twenty-eight chickens, four ducks and a cat were in need of immediate medical care.

Authorities discovered that Kyle Heller, 38, of Solon, was in possession of several firearms despite being prohibited from owning them as a convicted felon.

Heller was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony.

He also faces three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for possessing large capacity magazines, all class D felonies.

Additional charges include one count of third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon, a class D felony, and four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

Charges related to animal neglect are pending as investigators await veterinary reports.

The Susquehanna SPCA, Cortland County SPCA and Department of Environmental Conservation assisted troopers in the investigation.

Heller was transported to the Cortland County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
