Rhode Island troopers make 3 overnight arrests in Pawtucket, Lincoln

LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police arrested three individuals on separate charges during early morning traffic stops Saturday in Pawtucket and Lincoln.

At 1:03 a.m., troopers arrested Van Segarra, 44, of Providence, following a traffic stop on Route 95 in Pawtucket.

Segarra was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) of 10 grams or less.

He was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending arraignment as a probation violator.

Nine minutes later, at 1:12 a.m., troopers arrested Julio Gonzalez, 60, of Pawtucket, during a traffic stop on Old Louisquisset Pike in Lincoln.

Gonzalez was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor with a blood alcohol content of .10-.15 (Phase I: .143% / Phase II: .139%) – first offense.

After processing, Gonzalez was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released to a responsible adult.

At 3:03 a.m., troopers arrested Alex Fernades-Depina, 32, of Boston, following another traffic stop on Route 95 in Pawtucket.

Fernades-Depina was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor (BAC unknown) – first offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test – first offense.

He was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
