Multiple arrests, accidents reported in Salamanca

SALAMANCA — The Salamanca Police Department reported multiple arrests and vehicle accidents throughout the city during the first week of March.

On March 2, police responded to a single-vehicle accident with no injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The following day, officers handled a two-car accident on Waite Ave. with no injuries.

During that incident, Zackary Richardson, 32, of Kill Buck, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unsafe backing.

Richardson, who also had an outstanding warrant for assault and harassment charges, was issued an appearance ticket.

On March 4, Jordan John, 42, of Steamburg, received six citations including aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

John’s vehicle was towed.

That same day, Preston Quinn, 31, of Limestone, was taken into custody on a bench warrant and transferred to Olean Police Department.

Also on March 4, police responded to a three-car accident on Broad St. when a tire broke off a pickup truck and struck two other vehicles.

The pickup driver was cited for unsafe tires.

On March 5, Nicole Gilbert, 42, of Salamanca, surrendered herself on warrants for grand larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Darby Monahan, 46, of Salamanca, was processed on a warrant for grand larceny and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail following arraignment.

A two-vehicle collision occurred in the Sanders Parkview Supermarket parking lot on March 5, with the at-fault driver cited for unsafe backing.

On March 7, Amanda Sendall, 38, of Gerry, was taken into custody on a bench warrant and held pending arraignment.

Eric Harrison, 31, of Salamanca, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of narcotic drugs with intent to sell, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and criminal possession of a controlled substance following a larceny complaint.

Police also issued multiple traffic tickets throughout the week for various offenses.
