BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Unit arrested a 40-year-old man on multiple firearm charges Friday evening following a surveillance operation in Dorchester.
At about 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, officers assigned to the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit arrested Cedric Waller of Boston after recovering a loaded firearm from his waistband.
Police were conducting a drug investigation near 247 Woodrow Avenue where they observed heavy foot traffic and a damaged front door allowing unrestricted access to the building.
During surveillance, officers observed a male enter the building and exit approximately four minutes later.
Officers followed the individual and conducted a threshold inquiry, which led to a pat frisk that revealed a firearm in the suspect’s waistband.
The weapon was identified as a Jimenez Arms Inc. handgun containing eleven rounds in the magazine and had a defaced serial number.
Waller was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and defacement of a firearm serial number.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
