NEW HARTFORD — A Utica man is facing felony charges after he moved and failed to notify police that he had changed addresses.
New Hartford Police Investigators developed that 67-year-old Charles F. Fisher was no longer residing in The Town of New Hartford and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
The male was located in Utica on Wednesday evening by The Utica Police Department and arrested on the warrant.
According to the New Hartford Police Department, Fisher was under the supervision of the New Hartford Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, due to him being a Level 3 registered sex offender that had been residing in the Town of New Hartford.
At the end of January, Fisher had relocated to a residence in the City of Utica but failed to register with the Utica Police Department within ten days, as required by law.
Fisher’s location was unknown, so a warrant was issued by the New Hartford Town Court for Fisher’s arrest.
On Wednesday, March 5, he was located in the City of Utica and taken into custody and charged with one count of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class E Felony in violation of the New York State Corrections Law.
Fisher was arraigned in Oneida County Central Arraignment Court on the charge and was remanded to The Oneida County Jail.
The New Hartford Police Department was assisted in the investigation by members of the Utica Police Department.
