STAMFORD — A local man was arrested Saturday after deputies found him operating a snowmobile while intoxicated on County Highway 18.

Robert Fox, 60, of Stamford, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, both unclassified misdemeanors, according to Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

Deputies responded to a complaint about a snowmobiler operating on private property along County Highway 18 at approximately 3 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies found Fox stopped in the roadway on his snowmobile.

Through their investigation, deputies determined Fox was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Town Court at a later date.
