ROCKLAND — Rockland police arrested two women on drug charges Thursday after a traffic stop near a suspected drug trafficking location yielded approximately 5 grams of crack cocaine and other narcotics.
Officers were conducting proactive patrols around 1:30 p.m. on March 6 when they stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations.
A search of the vehicle uncovered the crack cocaine along with several smaller amounts of suspected narcotics, according to police.
The driver, Brianna Willis, 30, of Waldoboro, was arrested and charged with felony possession of crack cocaine and violation of conditions of release.
Police said Willis was already on bail for a prior felony drug charge at the time of her arrest.
The passenger, Nicole Caven-Gardner, 36, described as transient, was arrested on six outstanding arrest warrants and for violating six sets of bail conditions.
Rockland police said they regularly receive information and complaints from citizens about suspected drug trafficking locations throughout the city.
The department stated it has made multiple narcotics arrests through proactive and directed patrols in the past year.
