AUBURN — A New Hampshire man wanted on 15 arrest warrants and suspected of stealing approximately $115,000 worth of merchandise was arrested following an investigation by Auburn police detectives.

The investigation began on Dec. 5, 2024, when Auburn Police received a report of nearly $2,400 worth of clothing stolen from Victoria’s Secret at the Auburn Mall.

In January, Auburn Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Jaquelle Anderson of Portsmouth, with assistance from the New Hampshire Probation/Parole Department and Victoria’s Secret Asset Protection.

Detectives discovered Anderson had an extensive history of similar thefts throughout New England and was considered armed and dangerous based on previous firearms offenses.

Anderson had 12 active arrest warrants from various Massachusetts District Courts when Auburn Police obtained a 13th warrant for his arrest.

Investigators learned Anderson would rent different vehicles while committing crimes, making him difficult to track.

During the investigation, police discovered Anderson had fled from New Jersey State Police during a traffic stop and accumulated additional warrants in Virginia.

On March 2, Auburn Police learned Anderson had committed thefts at Victoria’s Secret locations in both Natick and Auburn on Feb. 28.

In the early morning hours of March 6, Detective Keith Chipman discovered Anderson had committed another theft at a Victoria’s Secret in Rhode Island, where surveillance captured him, his vehicle, and the registration plate.

Detective Chipman contacted the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section for assistance and requested a “Be On the Lookout” alert.

Within hours, Massachusetts State Police observed Anderson driving the identified vehicle on I-290 and attempted to stop him.

After Anderson fled, police discontinued the pursuit for safety reasons but later reengaged on I-495, successfully deploying stop sticks at the exit 67 off-ramp.

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing Division located the vehicle and eventually found Anderson hiding in a wooded area in Clinton.

Anderson was taken into custody without incident by Massachusetts State Police and local police agencies.
