NASHUA — Joshua Shea was sentenced to 37 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2022 stabbing death of Evangelos Ioannou.
The sentencing took place Tuesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court Southern District, according to Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke.
Shea admitted to recklessly causing Ioannou’s death with extreme indifference to human life by repeatedly stabbing him inside his apartment and in a common hallway on June 7, 2022.
The court imposed the sentence after hearing statements from several of Ioannou’s family members and friends.
As part of the plea agreement, Shea waived statutory relief under RSA 651:20, and both Shea and the state agreed to waive the right of sentence review.
The guilty plea was for violation of RSA 630:1-b(I)(b), which covers second-degree murder.
