Multi-vehicle crash shuts down I-81 in Homer

HOMER — Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 northbound at mile marker 57 in the Town of Homer on March 6 at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a tractor trailer jack-knifed across the interstate, blocking both lanes of travel.

Officers determined that two separate crashes had occurred involving a total of three tractor trailers and three passenger cars.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down to all traffic until all vehicles were cleared from the scene.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Homer Fire Department, New York State Department of Transportation, Ron’s Towing, Stupke’s Towing and Valu-Towing.
