Lancaster police handle shoplifting, traffic violations in busy week

LANCASTER — Lancaster police responded to approximately 500 calls for service, including 125 EMS calls, during the week of Feb. 14-20.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Como Park Boulevard after observing a vehicle with excessively tinted windows and discovering the registration was suspended for an insurance lapse.

The driver received traffic tickets and the vehicle was towed for aggravated unlicensed operation.

Police responded to a Transit Road restaurant where two females allegedly finished their meals and left without paying.

At a Transit Road department store, employees reported a couple who attempted to shoplift merchandise, but fled after being confronted by store staff.

In another incident, police arrested a male at a Transit Road supermarket after he allegedly gathered merchandise and attempted to leave without paying.

Officers issued traffic tickets during a stop on Transit Road after observing a vehicle with excessively dark window tints and discovering the registration was suspended.

Police are investigating a theft at another Transit Road department store where a male suspect reportedly took a bouquet of roses and three cases of soda without paying.
