HYANNIS — Barnstable police responded to reports of gunshots at a Hyannis apartment complex just before midnight Thursday, where they found a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers secured the scene and provided initial aid to the victim before Hyannis Fire Department personnel transported him to Cape Cod Hospital.
The victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Preliminary investigation by patrol officers and detectives indicates the shooting was not a random act of violence.
