NEWBURGH — City police arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred on Chambers Street last November.
On Nov. 22, 2024, at approximately 1:38 p.m., City of Newburgh Police responded to the area of 167 Chambers St. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Officers discovered evidence of a shooting at the scene, including eleven 9-millimeter shell casings.
The case was assigned to the City of Newburgh’s Non-Fatal Shooting Team, which identified a suspect during their investigation.
On Feb. 26, authorities arrested a 16-year-old male resident of Newburgh and charged him with offenses related to the incident.
Detectives Edgar and Salazar led the investigation with assistance from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
