SPRINGFIELD — On Wednesday, March 5 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, along with Hampden County Sheriff’s Deputies, arrested three suspects in connection with a drug distribution ring on Malden Street.
For the past several months, detectives have been investigating an apartment on the 100 block of Malden Street in connection with crack-cocaine distribution.
Detectives gathered information that Brian Dawson was the primary suspect and obtained a search warrant for the apartment.
Around 12:20 p.m., detectives executed the search warrant and detained twelve individuals inside the home.
Springfield Police Officer Eric Blair and K9 Flexx searched the home, leading to the recovery of more than 22 grams of crack-cocaine, 62 bags of heroin, five oxycodone pills, and more than $2,500 in cash.
Detectives arrested Dawson and two females who had outstanding warrants. The other individuals were released.
Brian Dawson, 59, of Springfield is charged with cocaine trafficking of 18-36 grams, possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, and possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug.
Betty Guerra, 46, of Holyoke is charged with two arrest warrants.
Leslie Hernandez, 44, of Springfield is charged with an arrest warrant.
