NORTH ADAMS — Members of the North Adams Police Department Detective Unit, along with the patrol division and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant on Feb. 28 at 255 Houghton Street, Apartment A.
The operation was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the search, authorities seized approximately 134.1 grams of fentanyl, which, when packaged for sale, would have yielded about 6,705 bags, with a street value estimated between $26,820 and $33,525.
They also confiscated approximately 12.3 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, valued at roughly $738 to $1,230.
In addition, officers found $945 in cash, digital scales, and other packaging materials associated with fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine distribution.
Ronald Schneider of North Adams was arrested and charged with several offenses, including trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
Schneider was already out on bail for a separate case from August 2024, in which he faced charges of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
On March 3, Schneider was arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court.
His bail from the earlier case was revoked, and a new cash bail was set at $75,000 for the current charges.
