Lockport man arrested for burglary, weapon charges

LOCKPORT — The Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Lockport arrested Jaquan J. Wright, 29, of Lockport, on March 4 for multiple charges including burglary in the second degree, menacing in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees.

The investigation began on Jan. 3 when the Bureau of Criminal Investigation received a complaint of menacing involving a handgun on Dysinger Road in the town of Lockport.

Authorities determined that Wright had forced partial entry into a residence, threatening several individuals with a black handgun.

An arrest warrant for Wright was issued by the town of Lockport Court.

On March 4, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in collaboration with the US Marshals Task Force, located and arrested Wright on Chapel Street in Lockport.

At the time of his arrest, Wright was found in possession of a 9mm handgun without a serial number and a loaded high-capacity magazine.

Wright was taken to SP Lockport for processing before being transferred to the Lockport Police Department, where he was held for CAP arraignment.
