UTICA — Utica Police Department officers conducted a vehicle stop near Genesee Street and Bank Place on the evening of Feb. 28 at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed a corner knotted baggie containing a substance consistent with cocaine on the passenger side floorboard.
The occupants were removed from the vehicle, and a search of the passenger, identified as Tremayne Rigsbee, 47, resulted in the discovery of additional similar baggies on his person.
Rigsbee was arrested and transported to the Utica Police Department.
Authorities confirmed that the quantity of narcotics found reached a felony level.
An investigator from the Special Investigations Unit charged Rigsbee with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
