Poughkeepsie drug task force raid nets 5 arrests

POUGHKEEPSIE — The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office announced that five individuals were arrested following a raid in the town of Poughkeepsie on March 3.

The arrests occurred during a drug task force operation at 7 Jones Street, where agents had been investigating narcotic and dangerous drug sales.

The investigation was initiated by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force in response to numerous complaints regarding drug activity and overdoses in the area.

During the investigation, agents made purchases of fentanyl and cocaine in the vicinity.

Joseph Napolitano, 35, was apprehended for selling fentanyl and cocaine on multiple occasions.

Following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at the Jones Street location, resulting in the additional arrests.

Napolitano faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal sale of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.

He was later arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and released under conditions to report to probation.

In addition to Napolitano, Atrayu Felix, 29, Shane Turner, 31, and Jasmine English, 19, were arrested and are wanted by the New York State Police for narcotics-related offenses.

They were turned over to state police.

Robert Cann, 30, was also arrested and transported to Dutchess County Jail on a warrant issued by New York State Parole.

The Drug Task Force emphasized their commitment to addressing narcotics activities that harm communities.

They were assisted by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department in this operation.
