NORTH HAVEN — Patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Hartford Turnpike at approximately 11:45 a.m. on March 4.

The homeowner, who was not expecting guests, observed the vehicle parked in their driveway for about 15 minutes via their doorbell camera.

Upon arrival, officers found 43-year-old Cricket Yurchick, of Hamden, asleep in the vehicle, which was still running.

After waking Yurchick, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view and asked her to exit the vehicle.

Yurchick appeared to be impaired, and it was discovered that the vehicle was using a license plate registered to another car.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen from Hamden.

Yurchick was subsequently arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (suspected fentanyl), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, and improper use of a marker plate.
