WESTMORELAND — Sebastian Domenico Jr., a 62-year-old resident of Rome, N.Y., voluntarily turned himself in following a hit-and-run accident on Route 233.

On Feb. 27, at about 4:53 p.m., State Police responded to the incident involving a 2008 Toyota Tundra traveling southbound on Route 233.

The vehicle attempted to pass another car preparing to turn right into the post office parking lot and hit the vehicle while passing on the west shoulder, causing damage to the passenger-side quarter panel and headlight.

The driver, described as a middle-aged white male, briefly stopped at Westmo Car Wash to inspect the damage before continuing southbound on Route 233 without contacting the victim.

The truck in question lacked a front license plate, had a dirt-obscured rear plate, and displayed a red tailgate with “MAGA” in white lettering.

Domenico has been issued tickets for several violations, including operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, moving from the lane unsafely, and driving on the shoulder of a controlled access highway.

Authorities are urging anyone with further information about the incident to contact the New York State Police at Troop D Headquarters at (315) 366-6000, referencing case #NY2500166577.
