Concord man arrested on multiple charges including DUI, child cruelty

CONCORD — Vermont State Police arrested a local man Wednesday afternoon on multiple charges including seven counts of DUI-Drug and one count of cruelty to a child.

Timothy Briggs, 42, of Concord, was taken into custody at approximately 3:32 p.m. on March 5 when troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks located him at his residence on Prospect Street.

Troopers were on patrol in the area when they learned Briggs had an outstanding warrant.

Further investigation revealed Briggs was wanted for seven counts of DUI-Drug, one count of cruelty to a child, and eight counts of violating conditions of release.

After confirming his identity and the warrant, officers took Briggs into custody and transported him to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Briggs was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on March 6 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges.

He was subsequently transported to Northeast Correctional Complex where he was held on $200 bail for the outstanding warrant.
