Two arrested on I-87 in Ramapo for possession with intent to sell narcotics

RAMAPO — Troopers from Troop T, SP Tarrytown, arrested two men as part of a violent crime suppression detail on Interstate 87 in the Town of Ramapo on Feb. 28.

At approximately 8:26 p.m., Troopers stopped a 2019 Honda Pilot for a vehicle and traffic law violation on the New York State Thruway.

The driver was identified as Robert Morales, 57, of Rensselaer, and the passenger as Irving Prado, 51, of the Bronx.

K-9 Odin was deployed during the investigation and alerted officers to the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 48.5 grams of Fentanyl and 56 grams of crack cocaine.

Both Morales and Prado were arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.

They were arraigned before Judge Michael Bongiorno in Clarkstown town court and are being held at the Rockland County Jail.

Their reappearance in Ramapo town court is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m.
