BETHPAGE — Two individuals have been arrested for criminal possession of a firearm following a series of coordinated search warrants in Nassau County.
According to the Nassau County Police Department, the arrests occurred at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 3, at the Extended Stay America hotel located at 905 South Oyster Bay Road in Bethpage.
The defendants, Joshua Garrett, 20, of Amityville, and Janea Wolfolk, 26, of Hempstead, were apprehended without incident after a loaded Glock 43 9mm handgun was recovered during the operation.
The operation was conducted with cooperation from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and the Suffolk County Police Department, focusing on crimes committed in Suffolk County.
Both Garrett and Wolfolk face charges of criminal possession of a firearm.
Garrett faces an additional charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Wolfolk was released on an appearance ticket and is due in court on Friday, March 14, at the 1st District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
