Chester woman arrested for alleged Medicaid fraud

CHESTER — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Julie M. Persaud, 36, following an investigation into alleged Medicaid fraud.

Authorities, in collaboration with the Orange County White Collar Crimes Task Force, uncovered a scheme involving falsified invoices intended to defraud the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities program through Medicaid.

Persaud allegedly manipulated invoices digitally, resulting in a personal profit of over $14,000.

She has been charged with two counts of health care fraud in the fourth degree, a class E felony, and two counts of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony.

Persaud was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Blooming Grove Court.
